SUPPORT SERVICES

in addition to our medical services, we offer several ancillary services to support patients during their journey to better health. These include help with health insurance enrollment, laboratory services, referrals to outside providers, and transportation if needed.

Health Insurance Enrollment

To assist our patients who qualify for health insurance, Borrego Health offers appointments with Certified Enrollment Counselors (CEC) and Care Coordinator Specialists (CCS) who will help with the process.

Medi-Cal offers year-round enrollment, but Covered California enrollment happens only at the end of the current year through the beginning of the following year.

Labs

Because treatments for hepatitis C and HIV, along with hormonal treatment for transgender patients, rely heavily on lab testing, our facilities make available a comprehensive list of exams that we can perform in-house, guaranteeing patient compliance and a fast turn around for results and continued care.​

Referrals

The Referral Care Coordinator’s main task is to serve as a liaison between the different agents of the health care system. These include providers, specialists, health insurance companies and patients.

Our Referral Department works diligently to make sure that your referrals are processed in a timely manner and sent to a reputable specialist able to provide you with excellence in continued care.

Transportation

Borrego Health offers transportation services to and from our clinics. You can use this service to visit our clinics in Cathedral City and Desert Hot Springs with no fees or additional costs.

  • Transportation service to Centro Medico Cathedral City is available every day except Tuesdays;

  • Transportation service to the DHS Specialty Clinic is available on Tuesdays only;

  • Let us know that you need the service when making an appointment, and we will set it up for you;

  • You must live within 30 minutes of the DHS Clinic;

  • You may only be picked up at your residence.
